Statement of Faith
-
THE SCRIPTURES
We believe the Bible,
both Old and New Testaments, to be verbally inspired and
completely without error in the original manuscripts and to be
the supreme and final authority for what we believe and how we
live. We believe that all the Scriptures were designed for
practical instruction.
-
THE TRINITY
We believe that God
eternally exists in three persons - The Father, the Son and the
Holy Spirit - and that these three are one God.
-
GOD THE FATHER
We believe that God
the Father is spirit, infinite, eternal, and unchangeable in His
being, power, holiness, justice, goodness and truth. We believe
that He is the creator of all that is, that He concerns Himself
in the daily lives of men/women, that he hears and answers
prayer, and that he saves from sin and spiritual death all who
come to Him through Jesus Christ.
-
JESUS CHRIST
We believe in the Lord
Jesus Christ, His complete deity, that He was born of the
virgin, that He was both God and man in the flesh, that He lived
a sinless life and died on the cross to pay the debt for our
sin, that He was raised, physically, from the dead on the third
day, that He returned to heaven where He is the Head of the
Church and speaks to God on our behalf, and that He is coming
again to this earth.
-
THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe that the
Holy Spirit is a person, that He is God, that He possesses all
the divine qualities, that he helps us interpret the Word of
God, that He enters our hearts at the moment we accept Jesus
Christ, and that He gives us the ability to minister to others.
-
SALVATION
We believe all people
have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Rom. 3:23). We
believe the punishment for sin is death, but the gift of God is
eternal life (Rom. 6:23). We believe that Jesus Christ died as
a sacrifice for our sins (Jn 3:16). We believe that no one
receives eternal life unless they accept and believe that Jesus
is the Son of God and that He was raised from the dead (John
14:6, Rom. 10:9-11). If you ask God will accept you (Rev. 3:20) |
